I promise to use it in good faith and hope to see you soon! Gotta say thanks to the Shabbanigans for sending out this lovely cocktail shaker. Mostly I get slightly exotic tasting Sherry and Gin. The Cassis and Apricot liqueur end up being more hinted at than actually present in the flavor profile of the cocktail. Kind of a kitchen sink recipe, as far as ingredients go, but fairly enjoyable. Beyond that, their use of non-traditional botanicals like Cilantro has gained them some attention.Īnyway, for some reason, I thought of it for this cocktail. People need to know how to organize and manage them. How do you get them all into a single file? These questions are all the more pressing for people working from home and those trying to go paperless because PDFs easily replace physical documents. Or maybe you have four or five sections of a report that you've printed to separate PDFs from Word, Excel, and a photo editor. You don't want to inflict a half-dozen PDF files on the accounting department, for example, when you can deliver one unified document. Knowing how to combine multiple PDFs into a single file is easy and can make you more productive. How to Set Up Two-Factor Authentication. How to Record the Screen on Your Windows PC or Mac.How to Convert YouTube Videos to MP3 Files. How to Save Money on Your Cell Phone Bill. How to Free Up Space on Your iPhone or iPad.How to Block Robotexts and Spam Messages. It will ask you for the files you want to combine, combine them, and then open them in your default pdf reader ready for you to save somewhere, count pages, print, search etc. Save your application somewhere (I saved mine to /Applications), and run it the same way you run any application. Select the options to "Allow multiple selection" for the "Ask for Finder Items" action, "Appending pages" for the "Combine PDF pages" action and "Default Application" for the "Open Finder Items" action. The workflow pane shows "Drag actions or files here to build your workflow" when there are no items in it. Open the Automator application from the /Applications folderĬhoose to create a "New Document" and choose "Application" for "Choose a type for your document"įrom the Actions Library drag the "Ask for Finder Items", "Combine PDF pages" and "Open Finder Items" actions to the workflow pane in that order. To work around Apple's removal of this feature in Mac OS High Sierra (10.13), you can use the Automator application to build your own application to combine pdfs which you can then save, search, count pages or print. You have to be exceptionally careful as dragging the document to the wrong area will add the PDF pages to the existing PDF, and even if you close preview, the changes persist. The only workaround I have found so far is to drag and drop all files to one pre-existing preview window. When this is changed to "always," you can open multiple documents in a tabbed format, but not in one window with each file on the lefthand side pane as before - this doesn't assist searching or getting a total page count. Oddly (to me anyway), I have also noted that in macOS 10.13.1 (High Sierra) it seems possible to change Preview behaviour by visiting System Preferences -> Dock -> Prefer tabs when opening documents manually (dock has little to do with finder or preview IMO). Preferences -> Images has "open all in one window", but it seems to be nonfunctional - when I open multiple PDFs from finder, it opens in multiple windows even with this selected. This was particularly useful to 1) get a total page count of all documents combined and 2) Be able to search within all of the PDFs simultaneously. Preview used to open multiple PDFs in one window - by selecting multiple files in finder, you could right-click and open all of them together. 6/3/2023 0 Comments Roulette 3d model freeThere are inside bets (bets on numbers) and outside bets (other options). Gamblers usually like to play and win faster, that is why you should know which bets you could place in roulette. It has a very high pay-out rate - 35:1 - but you would wait for your lucky chance for a long time. If there were only straight bets to certain numbers the roulette game would be dull and less popular. After the ball stops the dealer calls the winning number and pays out to winners taking away all lost bets. Until the dealer rolls the ball, players could place a bet, after the dealer says “Bets are placed, no more bets!” it is forbidden. Gambler is trying to guess which slot the ball stops. To be precise, the house edge in European Roulette is 2.70% and in American one - 5.26%. Any gambler has more options to win in European Roulette because of single zero. What is good in single-zero roulette? Well, the odds of European Roulette are twice as better than the American one. It is true, there is the only zero on its wheel (while the American roulette variation has two zero sectors - 0 and 00). European Roulette is also widely known as a single-zero roulette. 6/3/2023 0 Comments Nuclear fission![]() utilities are incentivized to retire their assets when fully depreciated, which is the exact opposite of what should be done. In addition to cost benefits, lifetime extension will allow the industry to maintain know-how while developing new advanced nuclear technologies.Ī recent example is Diablo Canyon, California’s last operating nuclear power plant, which has received federal funding for life extension. DOE estimated that a 1-GWe reactor could produce up to 150,000 tons of clean hydrogen per year. Inexpensive nuclear energy can also be used to power the hydrogen economy. ![]() With plants already depreciated, lifetime extension offers CO2-saving opportunities at extremely low cost compared to new build, making nuclear cheaper than renewables. Most nuclear reactors can operate safely beyond their designed lifespan of 40 years. For this reason, the industry has recently been bullish on Small Modular Reactors (SMRs).Īnother solution to lower the cost of nuclear and electricity in general is to extend the lifetime of existing reactors. While utilities hope to accelerate their learning curve, there is a valid argument against large reactors because of their intrinsic complexity. ![]() In the U.S., the Vogtle nuclear power plant’s two new reactors are seven years behind schedule and $16 billion over budget. The nuclear industry has a recent history of construction delays and cost overruns. Our World in Data has compared the death rate of energy sources, and nuclear is the second safest, after solar energy. Meanwhile, fossil fuels are responsible for the deaths of 7M people worldwide every year, according to WHO. The Fukushima nuclear accident did not cause any adverse effects on the health of Fukushima inhabitants, according to a 2021 United Nations report. Chernobyl’s reactor was a RBMK design, which was inherently unstable and is no longer operated in the West today. Those events have told us that the nuclear risk exists, but must also teach us to put it in perspective with the climate risk. Nuclear energy is haunted by the Chernobyl and Fukushima accidents. ![]() A solution would be to burn the spent fuel with a new type of reactor using fast neutrons. However, on this time scale, there can be no certainty that required information will be properly transmitted through generations. Spent fuel must be stored safely (e.g., underground) for 300,000 years before getting back to natural radioactivity levels. Nuclear waste encompasses different categories, but the most radioactive waste is spent fuel that is recovered from the reactor core. Why are we observing this nuclear fade case? Three demons, three reasons: waste, safety, and cost. Every new gas capacity built now will most likely remain in the energy landscape beyond 2050, the target date for carbon neutrality. As nuclear reactors retire, gas-fired power plants will play an even more central role. With this status quo, the energy transition in advanced economies will require an additional $1.6 trillion of investment over the next two decades. The nuclear fleet in advanced economies is ageing and 25% of existing reactors are expected to be shut down by 2025. Yet, the West is observing a decline in nuclear capacity. It also produces much more energy than other sources on a given land area. Hence it does not require storage capacities to be reliable and has a high capacity factor (~90%). Nuclear power is attractive because it does not emit CO2 and is independent of meteorological factors, unlike wind or solar energy. Project Drawdown estimates we need to cumulatively eliminate 1,000 GT from 2020-2050 to keep global warming below 2 degrees Celsius.Īs population grows, living standards improve, and electrification accelerates (e.g., through increased adoption of heat pumps and EVs), the world needs clean, abundant, and cheap electricity. This alone could save 5 gigatons of CO2 annually.įor reference: in 2019, the world emitted 51 gigatons of CO2-equivalent greenhouse gases. The IPCC found that global nuclear capacity would need to triple, reaching 1160 GW of electricity by 2050, to achieve our climate ambitions. Over the past 50 years, nuclear has saved our atmosphere from more than 60 gigatons of CO2 emissions that would have otherwise come from fossil fuels. carbon-free electricity in 2021, according to the IEA (International Energy Agency). Nuclear energy generated more than half of the U.S. 6/2/2023 0 Comments Mosaic painting![]() The “direct dial” technique practiced here since ancient times was called Roman. One of the leading centers of mosaic art was the Roman Empire. Deeply mosaic called art historians all the applied art of ancient Egyptian civilization. An early example of the technique of inlay, or received the name in antiquity mosaic technique opus sectile, later developed in the technique of Florentine mosaic can be considered an artifact, tentatively called “Standard of Ur” (2600-2400 BC).Īccording to archaeological excavations, mosaic spatial, mainly utilitarian, ornaments were widely used in Ancient Greece. The most frequently used geometric motifs: rhombus, triangle. The image was formed from the ends of these cones, which were usually painted red, black, and white. The mosaic there was made of burnt clay sticks-cones (“zigzags”) 8-10 cm long and 1.8 cm in diameter, which were laid on the clay solution. The history of the mosaic dates back to the 2nd half of the IV millennium BC – the time when the buildings of palaces and temples of the first Sumerian cities of Mesopotamia were dated. It is no accident that people decorated temple buildings with the very first mosaics. The word “mosaico” literally translated from Latin – opus, “musivum” means – work dedicated to muses. It’s not for nothing that Italian Renaissance painter Dominic Ghirlandaio said: “Painting is drawing, and painting, designed for centuries, is a mosaic”. Today mosaic is widely used in interior decoration, however, we sometimes do not notice the best examples of this delightful art, hurrying to do our business … And sometimes you should look around or just look under your feet. Mosaic is the art of composing an artistic image with a set of any colored material, known for thousands of years. 6/2/2023 0 Comments Sword of the necromancer![]() I think they could have used a bit more detail in some way as they look a bit flat. The art in those visual novel scenes is excellent, but the character sprites during gameplay feel bland and lack personality in comparison. Getting to know how they grew to like and eventually love each other feels natural and raises the stakes of the adventure. The writing isn’t anything special, but the two actors voicing these characters really put their all into their performances and makes them instantly likable. Tama is a typical tsundere while Koko is naive and lacks knowledge about the world. While these moments rely a lot on anime tropes, I still really enjoyed them. Having been spoiled by Hades and wanting to progress the story quickly, I set most of these options to their easiest difficulty.Īfter defeating the boss at the end of each floor, you’re rewarded with a visual novel style cutscene showing Tama and Koko’s relationship before the latter died. ![]() In the options menu at your base, you can adjust various difficulty options like overall difficulty, if you lose items and levels upon death, or whether you can unsummon monsters from anywhere. Speaking of difficulty, Sword of the Necromancer can be as similar to the original Rogue as you want. There’s even the ability to game harder for yourself by adding negative status effects to equipment. You can also forge some of these items at your base in the temple to add even more attributes to them, provided you have the materials. ![]() Everything you can equip, including monsters, have attributes that either affect their attacks or your stats, for example, later on in the game I found a shield which gave me an extra heart. Aside from monsters to summon, you can also find various equipment in the dungeon, such as more swords, spears, axes, bows, spellbooks, and more. Leaving the room or opening your inventory will unsummon them, and given their AI is pretty dumb you will want to spawn them as close to your target as possible. ![]() It’s a very novel gimmick, and you’re essentially playing a nuzlocke run of Pokemon as you replace monsters who die once more.Īfter defeating a monster yourself, you can stand above them and hold B to add them to your inventory, which then allows you to assign them to a button to summon them in battle. To encourage this, your sword attacks are slow and don’t deal much damage. Your character is very weak and slow compared to your foes, so it’s best to sit back and occasionally jump into the frey if needed rather than try and take everything on yourself. It took me a bit to figure out, but you mostly want your resurrected minions to do your dirty work. The titular sword allows Tama to resurrect slain monsters and summon them to fight at her side. Sword of the Necromancer is a unique rogue-like in many ways. Retrieving the Sword of the Necromancer and discovering it has no effect on Koko, the former thief enters the crypt to defeat the Necromancer and take their power for herself. After the priestess Koko is killed, Tama’s love, she brings her to the ancient Necromancer’s lair. What would you do to bring back the one you love? Legend has it that a Necromancer forged a blasphemous sword, allowing them to live forever and to raise the dead. 6/2/2023 0 Comments Us bulk sms sender app![]() Additional APIs and portals can be used with the platform to provide your customers with access to REST SMS APIs, web SMS portals, text marketing campaign portals and for other uses.
